What we do: Accommodation with support

Providing home for people who would otherwise be homeless

If you are a young person who lives, works or is at college in Dartford and you need help to find somewhere to live, we may be able to help.

We offer accommodation to people who are homeless or who cannot afford to rent a place of their own.

If you would like to stay at YMCA Thames Gateway, contact us on 01322 282045.

The YMCA has accommodation for 56 young people, all with professional staff to offer dedicated help and advice to developing your skills and self- confidence. The average stay before moving onto independent living is around 18 months.

Support, Help and Advice

We offer a range of projects to help our young people staying with us to get jobs, learn new skills, and make positive choices about their lives.

Our professional staff offer help and support with issues faced by our young residents, such as problems relating to family breakdown, alcohol, drugs and addition.

Fun and social activities

Young people who stay at the YMCA enjoy a programme of social activities and there are also the opportunities to attend National and International youth conferences.

Through these activities, we aim to encourage the building of friendships and support for each other.

Our Community

We encouraged our young people to work together and respect each other, the YMCA staff and volunteers.

We have regular residents' meetings and opportunities for residents to be actively involved in the YMCA's decision making processes.

Who pays for the accommodation?

If you are entitled to benefits or on a low income we can support you in making a claim for housing benefit. We have a strict rent policy and expect rent to be paid on time.
